Matteson IL shooting: Suspect arrested after woman, teen boy found shot to death in Matteson apartme

MATTESON, Ill. (WLS) — A suspect has been arrested in connection to the deaths of a girl and a teenage boy who have been found shot to death in a south suburban apartment.

Kephren Ferguson, a 34-year-old man, used to be arrested at his place of abode in Hammond Indiana after a search warrant was once performed via Hammond Police Department SWAT and Matteson Police Department detectives.

The shooting was the results of an altercation between two adult female roommates who reside at the Matteson apartment, police mentioned. Ferguson is the boyfriend of one of the crucial female roommates, and the two sufferers have been siblings of the opposite roommate.

Ferguson has been charged with two counts of homicide and two counts of attempted homicide.

Matteson police officers replied to the scene just prior to 10:30 p.m. Thursday to the 4100 block of Lindenwood Drive, where they discovered the sufferers, police stated.

A 20-year-old woman used to be found with an apparent gunshot wound to the head and a 16-year-old boy was once found with apparent gunshot wounds to the head and chest, police stated.

The sufferers weren't initially believed to be citizens of Matteson, police said. The identification of the sufferers has not yet been launched.

Ferguson remains in the custody of the Lake County Indiana Sheriff’s Department, pending extraction to Cook County.
